Compass One Healthcare Donates 200,000+ Pairs of Socks to Local Shelters Across the U.S.

Compass One Healthcare (Compass One), powered by Morrison HealthcareCrothall Healthcare, CCL Hospitality Group, and TouchPoint Support Services, has donated more than 200,000 socks this year as part of its annual "Socktober" initiative, which encourages teams at hospitals, health systems, and senior living communities nationwide to donate socks to local charities and shelters across the country.

Socks are one of the most requested donation items in shelters. Many unsheltered people rarely take their shoes off and do not have access to laundry facilities, making socks the top-requested item at homeless shelters.

Across Compass One's sectors, hundreds of sites nationwide saw high engagement and donation results to support local community organizations. For example, at UVA Health System, more than 22,000 socks were donated to the Salvation Army of Charlottesville, and at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky, nearly 10,000 socks were donated to the Salvation Army.

"Over the past four years, our combined efforts have delivered 760,000 socks to those in need – a remarkable milestone that reflects not just numbers but the heart and dedication of our teams, partners, and communities," said Bobby Kutteh, CEO of Compass One Healthcare. "This year's results highlight how partnership, creativity, and compassion continue to bring warmth and support to those who need it most during this season of giving."
